Parliamentary Assembly to hold its winter session from 23 to 27 January

Highlights will be addresses by British Prime Minister and Finnish President and a possible urgent debate on Russia

Parliamentary Assembly 

Addresses by British Prime Minister David Cameron, Finnish President Tarja Halonen and Georgian Foreign Minister Grigol Vashadze will be among highlights of PACE’s winter session (23-27 January 2012) in Strasbourg. There has also been a request for an urgent debate on “The Russian Federation between two elections”.

A debate on guaranteeing the authority and effectiveness of the European Convention on Human Rights is scheduled, as well as discussion of reports on the situations in Belarus, Bosnia and
